Once at the lake, I stopped by the fishing dock, ate homemade pizza at the Marina, hiked for two miles and finally sat on the beach just reading a book and taking panoramic photos. Lake Thunderbird is only 50 minutes away from my house, and once I was directed off I40, it was eight miles of country roads to drive through.
